Bloomingdale Township Supervisor Michael D. Hovde Jr. announces Food Bank Membership

Posted Thursday, March 11, 2021

Bloomingdale Township Supervisor Michael D. Hovde Jr. recently announced that the Bloomingdale Township Food Pantry has become a member of the Northern Illinois Food Bank in Geneva.

"Our food pantry has continued to be an essential resource for township residents, especially during the COVID crisis," Hovde said. "In the last few years, we have transformed the pantry into a tax-exempt organization, obtained funding for, and completed a major renovation of the food pantry. In addition, we have expanded our hours of operation, and created a diaper bank."

"Our membership in the Northern Illinois Food Bank will help us lower costs and serve the public in a more efficient manner," Hovde said.

Currently, the Food Pantry is open for distribution on Wednesdays and Fridays, with the Diaper Bank being open on Mondays.
