Special Police District

In 1991, a referendum was held and successfully passed, in the unincorporated areas of Bloomingdale Township, to establish a levy for extra police patrols. This fund is used to contract with the DuPage County Sheriff’s Department, on an annual basis, to provide a resident deputy for Bloomingdale Township.

The resident deputy is a full time sheriff’s deputy who is permanently assigned to patrol the unincorporated areas of Bloomingdale Township. Those areas include, but are not limited to: Medinah, Itasca Ranchettes, Nordic Park, Keeneyville, Cloverdale, Roselle Countryside, Conestoga Estates, Mallard Lake Estates, Feuerborn and Klodes Swift Road Estates, Skyline Estates and Glen Ellyn Countryside. This is over and above the normal complement of sheriff’s deputies assigned to our area.

The schedule for the resident deputy is from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m., for 40 hours per week, however, the Township can request additional patrol time, through payment of overtime hours, to accommodate special needs.

Any questions or concerns regarding this service please call the Township at 630-529-7715.
